PERIOD PAINS AND CRAMPS
Try cramp bark, motherwort, white peony, evening primrose oil or skullcap.

HEAVY BLEEDING
Herbs that help are raspberry leaf, nettle and yarrow, which can be taken as tea.

RASPBERRY LEAF TEA
Traditionally, Raspberry Leaf is used to aid childbirth, relaxing the cervix and toning the muscles. Can be taken as a daily infusion during the last three months of pregnancy, freely during labour to ease contractions. Daily dose - 1/2 cups of tea.

DO NOT take during the first three months of pregnancy, and always ask your doctor's advice first.

It has a strong astringent action - tea makes a gentle and effective remedy for diarrhoea in children. Can also be used as a gargle for sore throat. Raspberry leaf may help heavy menstrual bleeding and is sometimes used to relieve PMT and period pains. 100g

NETTLE TEA
Rich in iron, calcium and silica, nettle leaf makes a useful tonic for anaemia and rheumatic problems. Nettle may also help those suffering from eczema, psoriasis, uticaria, hay fever or asthma.

Nettle's primary use is for stiff and swollen joints, including problems with gout. An infusion can be used as a lotion to relieve swollen and weakened skin, including varicose veins. Nettle is commonly used for treating urinary problems.
